Vote Yes for Amendment 5

Vote "Yes" for Amendment 5
I support the passage of Amendment 5 and hope voters agree when they go to the polls in November. By voting yes, property taxes will drop by 25 to 40 percent. The Amendment will eliminate the state’s Required Local Effort (RLE) property tax levy for School Boards in 2010. Don’t worry about the schools because they will still get the same funding, just in a different and fairer way. Language in Amendment 5 will require the Florida Legislature to fund schools to the same number as next year, adjusted forward. Without Amendment 5, property owners will continue to pay a disproportionate share to the school funding. Amendment 5 will be a fairer way fund the schools. It’s a win-win situation for both the state and property owners so vote “yes” to Amendment 5!
