Home Staging is important in this Real Estate Market

As more and more houses come onto the market, how your home “shows” to the buyer is extremely important in getting their attention. Buyers in the Tampa Bay real estate market have almost 20,000 homes to choose from and they are unfortunately not very imaginative when they walk into a home that is not decorated in their taste. It doesn’t cost much to stage a home. A little elbow grease to make sure it is good and clean and maybe a storage unit so you can clear out the clutter. Another important and inexpensive thing you can do is to put a new coat of a nice neutral color on your walls. The paint alone will make a huge difference in how your home shows. The goal is get the buyer to see your home and not all of your family pictures hanging on the wall or the deer head hanging over the fireplace. Home staging is not about remodeling your house, it’s just about de-personalizing it and redecorating by boxing some of your things up and moving existing pieces around. If your Realtor is not helping you stage your home, they are doing you a disservice. With 20,000 homes on the market, you need to make sure yours stands out from the rest!
